    On Wednesday July 17th, Dark Horse Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts taught children ages 5 - 12 some basic martial arts techniques and drills at Flagstaff Elementary in Longmont, CO. Flagstaff has a tremendous summer camp program which brings in experts in many fields such as bowling, pottery, drawing, roller-skating.     From Thursday May 30 - June 2nd, Dark Horse Jiu-Jitsu competed at one of the largest and most prestigious martial arts tournaments in the world, the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation's World Championship tournament. The only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in Colorado to compete, Professor Jubera won his first fight against a Tiago Rocha (2013 Brazilian National Championship bronze medalist) with Xande Ribeiro's patented star sweep, before losing to a tough Gabriel Rollo (2013 Brazilian National Championship silver medalist) in his second.     On Saturday, May 11th. Dark Horse Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competed at the Fight to Win MMA's Colorado State Championship where Keith Gregory brought home the absolute title in the No Gi 170lbs and over division. He showed a tremendous jump in his game by displaying awesome guard work where he has relied more on his takedown ability in the past. Patrick Davis won the blue belt absolute division in the submission only division winning his matches in under 5 minutes.     World Champion Alexandre 'Xande' Ribeiro defeated World Champion and current Abu Dhabi open weigh champion Braulio Estima last Sunday in an exciting match. In a great display off balance and patience, Xande thwarted the difficult guard sweeps of Braulio Estima then slowly cranked up the pressure. Xande's pressure passing is his trademark and something that we emulate at Dark Horse Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Xande ended up winning the match 5-2 and finished the match almost passing to mount.     On March 21st, 2013 Dark Horse Brazilian brought 12 competitors to one of the biggest martial arts tournaments
    in the country. With over three thousand competitors ranging from children to seniors, this International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation tournament is a five day event. Medalists from the team included Eric Coe who got four submissions is a 100+ man single elimination bracket to take 3rd place. World champion Elizabeth Tran took second place after finishing her first two opponents in dominating fashion in the brown belt division.
